Google Earth Maps
Google Earth is by far the most powerful scouting tool for DIY hunters. These maps can zoom into any place on earth and views up to date satellite imagery of fields, tree lines, fence rows and bodies of water. The hunter can also pan or tilt the earth to check out the terrain of the land which includes aerials or ridges, draws, and ravines.
Google Earth is a free mapping tool.
Note: These are large files and may take a while to download depending on your internet connection.

US Topographic Maps
If you are old school like us, the peace of mind having hard copy maps in your pack is important. Now, Nat Geo affords outdoorsman that opportunity. They have built an easy to use web interface that allows anyone to quickly find any 7.5 minute topo map in the continental US for downloading as PDFs and printing. Each map has been pre-processed to print on a standard home, letter size printer.
